Guisborough Town boss Chris Hardy described lethal marksman Danny Johnson as being a top footballer after the 21-year-old striker scored all four goals to earn his side a 4-0 win at Ashington’ on Saturday.
Hardy said: “The goals speak volumes about Danny.
“That’s 53 for him in all competitions this season – and Danny is also a top kid to go with him being a top footballer.”
Of the game itself, Hardy thought his side coped with the near gale force wind better.
“They were difficult conditions,” he said.
“It was a wind which in many respects you would not even walk your dog in.
“It potentially spoilt the game but I thought we just dealt with it a bit better in terms of the fact we got two goals when we had the wind and did well against it.”
He continued: “The 2-0 lead by half-time gave us something to hang onto and we always knew we were going to get goals second half given the pace we have in the side and the way we can counter attack.
“We just needed to be assured and make sure we were organised and got a good start in the second half – it was pleasing.”
