In one of the few games played over the weekend, New Hartley Juniors and Brandon United braved the elements to battle out a 3-3 draw in a entertaining game.
The match kicked off in torrential rain on a pitch that was already waterlogged, but this did not stop Hartley taking an early lead through Toy Spratt.
And the home side should have doubled their advantage but saw Olly Ure’s spot kick saved by the Brandon keeper.
This sparked life into Brandon as they netted three time in a ten-minute spell with strikes from Hurden, Henderson and Johnson to give them a 3-1 lead at the break.
The second half saw New Hartley go close but found the Brandon keeper in excellent form on a pitch resembling a mud bath and Hartley’s all white kit barely visible to see.
With ten minutes to go Tom Potter tucked home a goalmouth scramble to make it 3-2, and for the second game running Dan Hall popped up in the last minute to make it 3-3 and save a point for Hartley.
