WOODHORN Lane Over-40s crashed out of the League Cup on Saturday when they went down at home to Hedworth.
Lane opened the scoring after eight minutes when debutant Tommy Fitzsimmons blasted in from 18 yards, but in the 23rd minute the visitors equalised following slack defending from a corner.
Six minutes later Fitzsimmons went close with a stunning drive from 35 yards before the visitors took the lead.
Things got worse for the home side when in the 55th minute Hedworth took a 3-1 lead.
The away side then capped off a fine performance with a fourth.
Woodhorn Lane return to league duty on Saturday when they entertain Rolls Royce from Sunderland.
Kick-off is 10.30am at Hirst Welfare.
