Jewellers crack open champagne

THE MB Socca Leagues six-a-side division two title was secured on Thursday night by V & N Jewellers in their first season.

They only lost one game on the way and this week they beat Ashington All-Stars 6-1 at the Hirst Centre in Ashington.

Also looking for promotion were Sparta Hatbreath and they got a 3-0 over Brazilliant so the runner-up spot is looking good for them.

Station FC were chasing hard also for promotion and before Thursday’s games they were only two points behind Sparta, but a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Red Devils leaves them five points adrift, and more disciplinary problems arose and one player faces an FA ban.

Division one saw already crowned champions Real Ashington put nine past Base FC with only one in reply.

Station Boys are looking for second spot but fourth placed Multiple Scoregasms beat them 1-0 and Station suffered playing with only five men for part of the game.

Multiple are three points behind with two games to play.

The Whipping Boys won 3-0 but are relegated to division two.
