Jewellers in sparkling form

THE weather was kind last Thursday night as MB Socca Leagues staged another exciting night of adult six-a-side soccer action at the Hirst Welfare in Ashington.

In the second division, new side V & N Jewellers continue to impress as they served up a scintillating display to beat Ashington All Stars 4-0.

Sparta Hatbreath went top of the division as they managed to fend off The Doggers 3-1.

Station FC got on with their football rather than verbals and managed to knock Brazilliant off the top as they just nicked a 2-1 win.

In the first dvision there seems no stopping current champions Real Ashington as they maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with their fourth win out of four.

They brushed aside old foes North Seaton Elephant 4-1 to go five points clear at the top.

Station Boys stay in second after they were involved in a tight tussle with The Whipping Boys and both had to settle for a point each in a 1-1 stalemate.

The final game saw Base FC and Multiple Scoregasms register the same score as both teams struggled to find the net and it ended all square 1-1.

New teams are keen on joining the forthcoming third division but there are still some spaces available.

The leagues are FA affiliated and referees are qualified.
