IN divsion one of the Thursday night MB Socca Leagues, there were not many goals flying in as most defences came out on top at The Hirst Welfare Centre.

But the Real Ashington bandwagon rolls on as they continued their 100 per cent start to the season as they made it seven wins out of seven.

Although their team manager’s claim before the game that his team has the title wrapped up with 14 games still to go was a little presumptious to say the least.

Indeed they faltered their way through what was a nip and tuck game as they just defeated The Whipping Boys 2-1.

Station Boys and Base FC stay locked together in second spot as neither could find a winner and drew 1-1. Both are now 12 points behind the leaders.

The highest scorers in the top division were Multiple Scoregasms, who recorded a 3-0 win over North Seaton Elephant.

The team of the moment is defintely V&N Jewellers, and these boys are really motoring at the moment in the second division as they racked up 11 goals with non in reply against new team KFC.

Some of their one touch football and clinical finishing was breathtaking at times.

Locked at the top of the league on 15 points with V&N is Sparta Hatbreath, albeit having played one game more.

They defeated The Doggers 3-0 as they bid for a quick return back to the top flight.

In an end to end game, Ashington All Stars claimed all three points as they just pipped Brazilliant 3-2.

In the final game, Station FC keep the heat on the top two as they won 6-2 to remain just two points behind the leaders.
