Ashington boss Gary Middleton said he was not disappointed and described Saturday’s goal less draw against Morpeth Town as being a decent point for his side.

Middleton said afterwards: “I am not down-hearted – yes we were at home but derby games can go either way.

“I thought it was a decent point from a really tough game.

“Two weeks ago we got beat in one, and Morpeth are a good side.

“They caused us problems in the first half with the system they play, but we stuck with the way we wanted to play.”

He continued: “The game was very even throughout and there was not a great deal in it, but the players from both sides have contested the match on what can only be described as being a difficult surface.”
