New Hartley back to winning ways

NEW Hartley Juniors bounced back to winning ways on Saturday with a 3-1 win over County Durham outfit Newton Aycliffe.

It was three great strikes that saw Hartley home, starting with a curling Sam Norris effort from the edge of the box.

The second half saw skipper Jack Stanley take over in goal after an injury to Sean Page, but the Durham side never troubled him and it was Hartley that went further ahead with a rasping Peter Ravenhill strike.

Aycliffe pulled one back only minutes later through Liam Jarvie to make it 2-1, but Josh Day killed off any hopes of a comeback to make the final score 3-1.

On Saturday New Hartley are at home to Leam Lane Rangers with a 1.30pm kick-off.
