New Hartley Juniors progressed to the semi-final of the John Maley Cup with a 2-0 victory over rivals Wallsend Boys Club.

Hartley went ahead early in the first half when striker Adam Bains headed home, and the score remained at that untill the last minute when a great strike from Paul Dunn made it 2-0 and put Hartley into a semi-final against Stockton, to be played at Hartley this Saturday with a 1.30pm kick-off.

This will be Hartley’s second semi-final as Monday saw Newton Aycliffe put to the sword in the quarter-final of the Lady Eden Cup when Hartley ran out 4-3 winners and they now face a trip to Prudhoe Town.
