New Hartley managed to beat the weather with one of the day’s only games, but wished they had not after going down 4-1 to Spennymoor.
The game went ahead in horrendous conditions and Hartley could have went one up when Cam Cunningham hit the post.
The home side did take the lead midway through the half when Kieran Brannen’s free kick found the bottom corner of the net.
Hartley were looking good but conceded right on half-time when Steven Taylor headed home to equalise.
This gave the visitors a big lift as Hartley crumbled and Spennymoor netted another three in a 15-minute spell through Joe Blackbourne and a Gareth McMahon brace.
