Blyth Town FC are looking for girls to play at under-12 level.

The club are renowned nationally for producing footballers of an international standard.

Most recently, Lucy Bronze has received the ultimate accolade for any individual player in scooping the PFA Women’s Player of the Year title.

She played for Blyth Town before joining current club Liverpool and is now a regular in the England Women’s team.

Training takes place on Tuesday evening between 6pm and 7pm at South Newsham playing fields.

The new season is a few months away and this will allow players of whatever level to achieve a reasonable standard of play.

Last season, the team took part in the Northumberland Girls Football League in the first division.

The main objective of the team is to encourage girls to come and play football, to enjoy the game and to meet new friends.

It is hoped the club can field two full teams at this age group.
