AFC Newbiggin faced Cramlington Town away in the Bay Plastics Combination Cup.

The visitors were looking to get back to winning ways following their previous draw against Cullercoats FC.

Newbiggin took the lead within two minutes of the kick off as Ross Muter, back from injury, capitalised on Town’s keeper’s mistake and with his first touch of the game, left foot from 40 yards out to give the Seasiders a quick 1-0 advantage.

Five minutes later Kevin Halliday made it 2-0 to the away side after he ran onto a through ball from Muter, outpacing the defence and beating the keeper at the near post.

Halliday struck again 18 minutes later to make 3-0, yet another through ball by Muter and again slotted away into the bottom corner.

In the second half Newbiggin continued to pile pressure onto Cramlington Town, and 17 minutes from time Brent Aisbitt made it 4-0, finishing the rout for Newbiggin with a superb header into the corner, crossed into the box from Kris Allington.

Overall, a dominating and impressive performance by Newbiggin on a very windy afternoon, who go through to the semi finals of the Combination Cup.
