Northbank sub Ross Irving scored two specials as the Cumbrians rocked Whitley Bay A.

Irving smashed one into the top corner from 25 yards with his first touch and although Andrew Robertson levelled when he went around the keeper and tucked away, Irving was the hero when he fired the winner through a crowd of players from the edge of the box.

Carlisle City’s Martin Shepherd also hit a double as the Sky Blues hit back after Danny Beresford had given hosts Blyth Town the advantage, with Connor Andrews popping up to share the spoils.

Lee Hamilton’s hat-trick for Killingworth Station included two penalties against Seaton Delaval, who had Mason Stephenson on the scoresheet while Stocksfield’s Phil Davidson slammed in a treble against Rutherford. Keiron Day netted direct from a corner and Kane Wight completed the scoring.

Michael Armstrong, Michael Strachan and Paul Newton-Eddy scored in Red House Farm’s win over Percy Main, who hit back through Stewart Wright, while Adam Smith and Stephen Cockburn (pen) were Hebburn Reyrolle’s scorers in their draw with Ashington Colliers, whose hit-men were James Brown and Joe Moscrop.

Walker Central stretched their lead at the top to seven points with goals from Carl Begbie and Christopher Maddocks against Wallington, who grabbed a late consolation thanks to an own goal.

Birtley Saint Josephs put a dent in Cramlington Town’s title hopes in Division One with goals from Dan Waller, Anthony Smith and James Bowman while Bohemians took the points against New Fordley with goals from Derek Ure, Tavis Couling and an own goal. New Fordley’s consolation was also an own goal.

Luke Fisher’s own goal gave Hexham the lead at Newcastle Uni which was cancelled out by an Angus Taylor screamer while Liam Anderson and Andrew Davison (pen) netted for Ponteland United as they beat Wooler.

Gary Hall hit a late winner for Heddon at Willington Quay Saints. Dan Robinson (two) and Andrew Davison got the others with Andy Breheny, Grant Starling and Glen Johnson (pen) successful at the other end for battling Saints.

Longbenton’s hopes of regaining top spot in Division Two were dashed against Newcastle Benfield Reserves, who netted through Ben Jefferson and Chris Thompson. Chris Sword scored for the Bulls.

Chris Chan, Chris Marshall, Stew Dodds and Dean Blacklock were High Howdon’s hit-men against Cramlington United – Tony Rees replying.

Goals from Liam Roberts and Liam Donnelly gave Whitburn the points at Swalwell, who pulled one back through Lee Cranney and Nicky Whitelaw, Michael Starkie and Carl Morrison scored for Wallsend Boys Club in their success against West Allotment Celtic A, who pulled one back courtesy of Sean Allen.

It ended goalless between Gateshead Leam Rangers and Seaton Burn.

Chris Rue, Peter Snowdon and Gary Yates scored for Shankhouse as they beat Prudhoe Town to go into the NFA Les Todd Senior Benevolent Bowl semi-finals but their was heartache for Chopwell, who were reduced to nine men and went down 3-2 to Shildon Railway in the DFA Minor Cup semi final.

Cup kings Newcastle Chemfica held their nerve in a penalty shoot-out to book a spot in the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup Final.

Goals from Dean Laycock and Steve McLaughlin had been cancelled out by strikes from North Shields Athletic’s Scott Jasper and Liam Climpson before Chemfica won the shoot-out 3-2 to go into their second Cup Final so far this term.

And Alnwick Town Reserves went into the Final of the Bluefin Group Bill Gardner Trophy with an exciting 2-1 win over Blyth Isabella. Dominic Schievetta and Peter Murray fired in for Town, with Dan Wardle netting the Isabella consolation.
