NEW Hartley Juniors’ unbeaten start of the season came to an crashing end in Sunderland against Durham County Youth League leaders Lampton Street.
Hartley took the lead on ten minutes when a free kick outside the box by Peter Ravenhill missed everyone and ended up in the back of the Lampton net.
Just before half-time Lampton pressure paid off when Michael Sweet equalised.
The start of the second half should have seen Hartley go in front when Ravenhill missed from close range, instead the clearance saw Sweet race clear and put Lampton 2-1 up.
The home side took charge with Sweet adding another two more to put his side 4-1.
Hartley did manage a glimer of hope when centre half Josh Day pulled one back, but a further two goals from Lee Biship and Lewis Burns sealed a bad day for Hartley.
