ASHINGTON’S over-40s team Woodhorn Lane maintained their impressive start to the season with a 3-0 victory over top of the table Horden Tinpot Grange at Hirst Welfare on Saturday.
First half goals from John Blyth and John Wilkie gave the Ashington team a 2-0 lead at half-time, and the game was decided by another Wilkie strike midway through the second half.
Horden were reduced to ten-men in the second half when their centre half was sent off for a second bookable foul.
On Saturday Woodhorn Lane are at home to Hedworth Field. Kick-off 10.30am at the Hirst Welfare.
