ASHINGTON Ladies inflicted a third defeat in four weeks on Prudhoe Town as they hit double figures with a convincing victory at Woodhorn Lane on Sunday.

The first goal came after three minutes when Karen Wright was on hand to stab home after a fumble by the Prudhoe keeper after a shot from Laura Jobson.

Wright added a second after ten minutes before Rebecca Caldow made it three shortly afterwards with a great individual effort as she came into the box and slammed home.

Meghan Tighe hit a fourth from outside the area and Jobson scored the fifth just before half-time with another long range shot.

Tighe made it six and Wright collected a pass from Jobson for the seventh.

Stacey Naples curled home to make it eight then added her second and Ashington’s ninth when her shot cannoned off the post and went over the line.

Naples completed her hat-trick with another cracking shot from just inside the box to complete the victory and put the Angels through to the next round.

On Sunday Ashington are at home to Redcar Athletic from the North East Regional League in the FA Cup. Kick-off is 2pm at Woodhorn Lane.
