NEW Hartley Juniors returned to action after a four-week lay-off due to county matches with a 3-0 Durham County Youth League win over basement club Bishop Auckland.
The first half was a dour affair with Hartley on top but failing to find the back of the net as they found the Auckland keeper on top form.
The second half was only minutes old when Hartley striker Peter Ravenhill swept home to put Hartley one up.
Again it was all Hartley with more good saves and the woodwork twice preventing the home side going further in front.
Eventually they went two up with a fine header from Liam McNamarra.
Still though Bishops never gave up, but a third goal five minutes from time, Ravenhill again, gave Hartley the three points.
On Saturday Hartley are again at home to Brandon with a 1.30pm kick-off.
