Real Ash crash but still lift title

THE end of season champagne was well and truly lifted off the ice at the Hirst Centre on Thursday night in the MB Socca six-a-side leagues division one.

Real Ashington bagged their third title in a row and manager Tony was over the moon as the Reds remained six points clear despite a last game defeat to Station Boys.

The Boys stormed to a 5-1 lead only to concede three in the second half, one scored by the manager as he took a spell out of goal, but Stationhung on to win 5-4.

Second placed V & N Jewellers finished runners-up but also lost their final game, 3-2 to Multiple Scoregasms.

Bankhouse lost 3-0 to ACE United and are relegated.

Division two ended with the only league game being played between Station FC and Newsham, which ended 0-0 and Station FC join champions the Whipping Boys in division one.

The Whipping Boys are promoted after last season’s relegation from the top league.
