THE weather was a lot kinder for players in the latest round of matches in the MB Socca Leagues at the Hirst Welfare Centre in Ashington as the winds dropped.

With the leagues having one week left before the pre-Christmas and New Year break, V & N Jewellers stay top after edging new team ACE United 2-1.

Current champions Real Ashington are second on goals scored after they won 5-3 against Multiple Scoregasms.

Station Boys are three points off the pace after a 3-0 victory over Sparta Hatbreath.

The Whipping Boys are ticking along in the second division and they kept their noses in front at the top as they just managed to fend off a spirited team effort from Newsham to nick all three poitns with a 1-0 win.

Red Devils are top scorers by a distance in the division and they smashed another five past Ashington Old Stars with one in reply.

Station FC had their shooting boots on too as they ran out comfortable winners over Ashington All Stars 4-0.
