Seaton Delaval Dynamos are holding trials for new players the beginning of next month.
The club won the National Charter Standard Club of the Year award 2013, which was presented by England’s 1966 World Cup wining hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst at Wembley before the Charity Shield.
Sir Geoff said: “Seaton Delaval Dynamos truly embodies the spirit of a grassroots football club.
“The club are focused on not only teaching kids how to play the game, but how to play the game in the right way – with respect to other players and officials.”
The Dynamos are hoping to start a girls’ U12/U13 (current Year 6/7) team this coming season and already have four players who are keen and have trained all year with the U12 boys.
Any girls who would be interested in joining are welcome to ask a parent to call or to come along to the trials.
The club are also looking to start an U14s boys team (current Year 8) and are looking to strengthen for next year’s U15s (current Year 9) playing in league three.
Trial dates are for U12/13 girls; U14 boys and U15 boys, are Saturdays, June 7, 21 and 28, from 10.30am to 11.30am; Thursdays, June 12, 19 and 26, from 7pm to 8pm; and Sunday, June 15, from 10.30am to 11.30am. They take place at Whytrig Middle School.
