Sparkling start for Jewellers

MB Socca Leagues’ new season kicked off in earnest Thursday night and there was goals galore at Ashington’s Hirst Welfare Centre.

Runners-up in the first division V & N Jewellers featured in the match of the night against Station Boys and they ran out 7-5 winners.

Current champions Real Ashington had their shooting boots on too and they played promoted team The Whipping Boys, winning 5-2.

Station FC got off to a flyer with a 3-1 win against Multiple Scoregasms.

In the second division there were two new who played each other.

Bayern Neverlusen stormed into a two-goal lead and looked a good bet for all three points but A Town Milan had other ideas and fought back to win 3-2.

Relegated Bankhouse are looking to go back up at the first attempt and Karl’s men were made to pull out all the stops to defeat Newsham 4-2.

Ashington All Stars showed they could be in a with a shout of promotion as they featured in a great 4-2 win over relegated ACE United.
