THE wind calmed down by kick-off time last Thursday night at The Hirst Welfare Centre, but there was a big hole blown in MB Socca League division one title race as Sparta upset The Biggin, who were top.

Sparta played neat football and showed that on their day they can be a match for anyone with a well deserved 2-1 win.

Real Ashington are now top, two points clear as they managed a slender 2-1 victory over old foes North Seaton Elephant.

Base FC consolidated fourth with a 3-0 victory over St ella.

The same scoreline applied to Multiple Scoregasms as they defeated Newbiggin Blaze.

The second division saw the battle of the Stations as leaders Boys played FC.

It was nip and tuck early on but Station Boys’ finishing was more clinical and they won 5-1.

The Whipping Boys sit menacingly in third as they defeated Ashington All Stars 3-0.

The Doggers claimed all three points with a 3-1 victory over Not In Service.

Bottom team A Town Rangers at last got their first points as they managed to fend off Brazilliant to claim a memorable 2-1 victory.
