Station Lounge win cup quarter-final derby tie

The Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League got under way at the weekend with the quarter-finals of the David Crichton Memorial Cup.

Ashington Town Central were beaten 5-2 at home against Ashington Station Lounge. Mark Taylor scored both goals for Central but Craig Towert (3), Glen Tear and Stuart Hall won it for the visitors.

Blyth Last Orders went down 2-1 against Red Lion Bedlington. Steven Craig scored for Last Orders with Tom Morgan and Scott Burgess on target for Red Lion.

Burradon began their defence of the trophy with a 5-1 home win against High Street. Man of the match Michael Chilton was on fire with four goals. Michael Hall scored their other while Chris Laidlaw was on target for Street.

In the semi-finals, Burradon and New Fordley will play Red Lion Bedlington and Broomhill North End Trap are up against Ashington Station Lounge.
