Blyth Rangers Valencia Under-13s secured the Pinpoint Recruitment League division five title with a fine 5-1 win against Heaton Hawks.
Rangers went into the game only needing a point to secure the title in front of a large crowd of parents and friends at Blyth Community College.
But they started nervously before settling down to play some good football and the scoreline was a fair refection of the game.
After the final whistle a relieved coach Jamie Chapman said: “It has been a fantastic season and these lads deserve to be champions.
“My fellow coaches and I feel it is very important that the lads enjoy playing, they play the game to enjoy it and have fun, that’s what it is all about at their age and it brings out the best in these players as they have proven.”
Team sponsor Michael Bryan, a businessman who has supported the team for the last two seasons, was thrilled with the title success and has promised to take the team paint-balling as a treat.
