THE tribute match for John Maley between a Northern League select team made up of former New Hartley Juniors players against the current Juniors side, raised more than £500 for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

The current Hartley under-18s found themselves a goal down after five minutes when Jack Stanley headed into his own goal from a Chris Fawcett cross.

Things got worse for the treble winning junior side as Gary Cook made it two with a 20-yard scorcher and Tony Shandran netted from the same distance to make it 3-0.

Michael Latmier added a fourth before Ryan Keltie netted a consolation for Hartley.

Hartley boss John Maley said: It was great that all the invited players turned up and each one of them donated £10 into the fund.”

The Select squad was: Kyle Hayes, Phil Hildreth, Marc Walmsley, Michael Hall, Greame Cairns, Danny Shore, Steve Walker, Mark Grant, Chris Philipson, Mick Latimer, Richie Latimer, Gary Cook, Chris Fawcett, Tony Shandran, Steve Cuggy, Conner Andrews, Lee Mason and Andy Gowens.
