United shock the league leaders Ashalona with a resilient display

THERE was a shock result in the MB Socca Leagues at the Hirst Cenre in Ashington last Thursday night as ACE United beat current leaders Ashalona FC.

The young lads of ACE put in a dogged and resilient display to defeat the leaders 1-0 to see them go into middle of table and give them confidence for the rest of the season.

Station FC could not take advantage of the slip up and were involved in a pulsating game with recently joined MEP Rangers. In an end to end affair both had to settle for a point in a cracking 3-3 draw.

Station stay second just one point off leaders Ashalona and Real Ashington.

Current champions Real Ashington had their shooting boots on as they went goal crazy against Real Kettle Chips, winning 10-0.

The final game saw Barca Newsham awarded a 3-0 victory with Ashington All Stars.

The leagues are not on this week but resume as normal next week.
