BLYTH Rangers Valencia Under-16s were back in league action after three cup games in a row.
In the opening minute a penalty to Wallsend was harshly awarded and converted.
This was quickly followed by a Blyth penalty shout for handball which was not given.
Blyth pressed and a goal was not given which looked to have crossed the line and a shot from Josh Carr hit the upright with the keeper beaten.
The second half saw more Blyth pressure and Wallsend’s keeper havd to be at his best with Connor Hicks and Ross Laidlaw both testing him well.
Then with two minutes left, substitute Rhys Thompson’s corner found man of the match Andrew Asman at the back post and his powerful header gave Blyth a deserved point to keep them fourth in the league.
Blyth are at home to second place Cramlington Town this Sunday at Broadway. Kick-off 2pm.
