BLYTH Rangers Valencia Under-16s reached their second cup final of the season in emphatic style with a convincing 6-1 win over Wallsend United.
The first half saw Wallsend have the wind behind them but they failed to use it to their advantage, and half an hour in it was Blyth who took a deserved lead.
A corner was cleared only for Liam Sinkinson’s return ball to find Rhys Brown who controlled well before scoring from 12 yards out.
Wallsend pressed and equalised two minutes before half-time when the wind and then the bounce caught out the back four as they failed to clear.
But straight from the kick-off Kaelin Madison’s long punt found Sinkinson who ran 40 yards before cutting inside from the right and firing in to restore the lead.
In the second half it was clear Blyth were going to have the upper hand.
One way traffic saw chance after chance before Andrew Asman hit the third from a corner before the man of a match got his second and Blyth’s fourth by volleying in from close range.
Ross Laidlaw could of added a fifth moments later after Robert Goodall pulled back for the unmarked striker who shot wide of an empty net.
Asman than had a goal ruled off for offside but Jack Young got on the end of Laidlaw’s cross-shot to make it five.
There was still time for Goodall to grab a sixth to set up a final clash with Marden Juniors on April 21 at Miller Dene Sporting Ground, Byker, kick-off 1pm.
