MARC Walton added he could have doubled his three-goal tally in Saturday’s 4-1 FA Cup win for Ashington over Marske United.
But the hot-shot striker revealed that he had shrugged off an illness which had laid him low in the days preceding the tie.
“I’ve had a virus for the past three days,” he said.
“I felt a bit ropey but I was determined to play.
“To be honest I could have scored six today, but I was happy with the three I got.”
Walton, 25 who works for Newcastle City Council, has made a great start to the campaign scoring six goals in the last three games.
He added: “I’ve set myself a target of scoring 40 goals in all competitions this term – so I’m delighted to have six under my belt at this stage of the season.”
