Burradon and New Fordley won a tight cup tie against South Beach CC which saw rare piece of sportsmanship.
The second round Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League George Davison Cup tie was only decided in the closing minutes.
South Beach went in front after two minutes when Ryan McKee scored.
Lee Waugh then brought the scores level before Burradon were awarded a penalty when Waugh was brought down. But the Burradon player showed his honesty and changed the referee’s decision when he told the official he fell over and was not fouled.
It looked like the game was heading for extra time before Andrew Purvis scored the winner for Buuradon and New Fordley.
The only other game to be played was in round two of the JD Marnock Cup where Newsham Victory won 4-0 at home against FC Beacon. Leading the scoring for the Vic was Daniel James with a hat-trick. Mark Langlands scored their other goal.
