IN a rearranged fixture, Richard Coates Middle School made the trip to Whytrig in the East Northumberland U13 Boys Schools Football League.
The conditions were sunny but windy, and a bobbly pitch led to a scrappy match.
Both teams tried to play football and it was Whytrig who took the lead when Flatman stole in to prod the ball over the advancing keeper.
Richard Coates struck back immediately when the left back played them onside and keeper Burgess was left helpless.
Playing with the wind after the break, the Seaton Delaval side kept Coates pinned back early on and took the lead when a corner was deflected in off a defender.
But again Whytrig went to sleep as this time the right back was caught deep and the Coates forwards combined to make the game 2-2.
Late pressure from Coates and a fine save from Burgess came to nothing, as the game ended up 2-2.
A fine result against a strong Ponteland outfit with Thompson and Wilcox taking the individual plaudits.
