Laura Jobson scored four and Megan Tighe and Karen Wright both notched hat-tricks as Ashington Woodhorn Lane Ladies recorded their biggest win of the season.
They totally dominated the match at Blakelaw playing fields on Sunday to run out 12-0 winners.
The visitors started brightly and Kristie Fenwick and Sarah Taylor both went close in the opening minutes before Jobson hammered home from a 25-yard free kick on ten minutes.
Tighe ran on to Wright’s through ball and fired home past Ashley Storey for number two, and the third came shortly afterwards when Wright delivered a perfect pass for Tighe to score.
On 35 minutes an acrobatic overhead kick by Fenwick went in off the post before Jobson slammed home from just inside the box to make it five.
And just before the break Wright added a sixth.
Ashington continued to dominate in the second half and it was no surprise they extended their lead as Tighe completed her hat-trick with a low drive beneath the grasp of Storey.
Wright fizzed a shot beyond Storey’s despairing drive for the eighth then Laura Fairley, making her comeback after a three-month absence through injury, scored from 25 yards.
Wright slotted in for her hat-trick for the tenth and Fenwick’s superb cross following her mazy run was met by a firm header by Jobson for the 11th to complete her treble before the latter added a fourth before the end to take the Ashington tally up to 12.
