After three interruptions for rain, Blyth’s game at Ashington Rugby CC was timed out with one over remaining.
In a game where 17 wickets fell, ten were given out lbw.
Ashington batted first after winning the toss opened with skipper Harwood and Adamson, who took advantage of some wayward bowling from Kemp and Smith.
With 32 on the board Smith finally struck when he trapped Harwood lbw for 18.
Ten more had been added when Smith stuck again as Roberts caught Adamson for 17.
The score had moved on to 67 when Blyth skipper Lawrence trapped Rosser lbw for five.
Paul Milburn came in and with Peacock put together a good partnership, and the latter brought up his 50, which included nine fours from 82 balls.
Peacock and Milburn had put together a 70-run partnership in just 12 overs when Lawrence had Milburn caught by Purma for 18.
Cory Milburn was next in but was soon back in the pavilion, trapped lbw by Walker without scoring, and Peacock’s innings ended in Lawrence’s last over with a caught and bowled for 81 from 91 balls with 14 four.
Kemp removed Little lbw without scoring, then a smart stumping from Quinn off Smith sent Whitworth back for 14.

Blyth’s bowling figures were A Kemp 1-44, C Smith 3-38, M Lawrence 3-53, C Walker 1-57 and A Rowell 1-5.

However, Greaves then put Blyth’s backs against the wall. The score was 36-1 when he trapped Smith lbw for nine and Clark followed lbw next ball before Lawrence’s lbw completed the hat-trick to make it 36-4.
Dent and Quinn slowly built a partnership, however, rain kept interrupting their progress. They had passed the half-century partnership when Whitworth finally got the prize wicket of Dent two runs short of his 50, another lbw.
Kirkup departed lbw to Maddison without scoring then Quinn and Rowell dug in.
Then in what proved to be the last over, Cory Milburn bowled Quinn for an excellent 40 and Rowell remained 18 not out after a 49-run partnership with Quinn.
