Blyth went down to defeat at Clara Vale on Saturday.
Batting first, Blyth made a steady start with Dent and Harwood before the former was first out when he was bowled by Rehan for six.
Ebdale, promoted up the order, hung around with Harwood and both played well and made steady progress before Ebdale was trapped lbw by Ashraf when on 14.
Skipper Lawrence came in but Harwood was next out caught by Iqbal off R Mohammed for 28.
Cotterill was next in to join Lawrence and this pair pushed the score past the 100 mark befroe once again disaster struck when Cotterill was run out for 16.
This marked the beginning of the end of Blyth’s batting as the innings crumbled with six wickets going down for 18 runs.
R Mohammed caught Lawrence off the bowling of S Mohammed for 22; O’Connor was caught by Saeed off Ashraf for six; Smith was caught by Alvi off Rehan for three; Roberts soon followed bowled by Rehan without scoring; Kemp was bowled by Ashraf for four; Walker followed bowled by Ashraf without scoring and Singh remained one not out.
Clara Vale’s bowling figures were R Mohammed 1-38, M Rehan 3-38, M Ashraf 4-27 and S Mohammed 1-17.
The home side opened their innings with N Iqbal and S Alvi, and what was to follow from Iqbal was outstanding.
He single-handedly took the Blyth bowling attack apart and raced to his 50 in only the fourth over with some big hitting.
No matter what Blyth did, he just swung and connected with everything, with boundaries the order of the day.
Alvi had moved slowly onto 31 when young Cam Walker bowled him to give Blyth their only success.
Iqbal and U Saeed saw Clara home in 15.1 overs, Iqbal was 87 not out with five sixes and 11 fours. Saeed was unbeaten on six.
Blyth bowling figures were A Kemp 0-17, S Singh 0-36, D Dent 0-27, D Ebdale 0-17 and C Walker 1-17.

Next weekend Blyth are at home to Kirkley with a 1pm start while the second XI travel to play Kirkley seconds also with a 1pm start.
