As tough as it gets for Colliers – Middleton

ASHINGTON CFC manager Gary Middleton admitted that his side’s away tie against Cornwall-based outfit Bodmin Town in the fourth round f the FA Carlsberg Vase was ‘probably as tough a draw as it could be’.

Middleton said: “We don’t seem to get much luck when it comes to being pulled out of the hat first, and to be honest this was probably as tough a draw as it could be.

“But we have been dealt a long away trip and will have to get on with it.

“Bodmin are top of the South West Peninsula Premier League and it will be a difficult game – but it’s the last 32 of the competition so whoever we pulled out was going to be present us with a tough challenge.

“We will look at the best options for our travel down to Cornwall so as to give us a realistic chance of making progress as we don’t want the players travel lagged.”

The game is to be staged on Saturday, January 19.
