Former amateur boxer Danny Wall has won his previous two fights after making his return to become a professional middleweight boxer, following a five-year stint away from the ring to raise a family.

Pegswood born Wall has three fights lined up between May and July with key dates being May 28 at Rainton Meadow Arena and the Stadium of Light on July 10.

Winning by a single point in his first fight, Wall went on to ease past a difficult opponent in the second to ensure he would be leaving victorious.

He said: “I took five years out from boxing and had a family, but now I’m back in full-time training and working everyday to better myself as an athlete.

“I had a great time training at Wild Card Boxing Gym in LA, it was a real eye opener but brilliant to be there and train with the legendary Freddie Roach.

“It really helped with my confidence and that showed in my fight.

“Right now my mind is focused on training for the next four fights I have coming up.”

Now training in gyms across the region, Wall works closely with his nutritionist and strength coach seven days a week in a bid to perfect his craft.

Both Wall and his coach, Tommy, are in constant contact and train twice a day together.

Tommy said: “It’s incredible to see the progress Danny has made since returning to boxing and from LA, he’s got a real determination to succeed and he isn’t letting anything stop him.”
