Home incentive for Ashington in FA Vase last 16 draw

THE winners of the Ashington and Bodmin Town FA Vase clash will be at home to Gornal Athletic or Wisbech Town in the fifth round.

The draw has given the Colliers or the Black & Ambers an extra incentive with the two clubs hoping to play their game postponed last weekend this Saturday.

However, Woodhorn Lane boss Gary Middleton refused to even contemplate looking past the Bodmin clash.

“My mind is totally focused on the game in hand on Saturday and rest assured the same can be said for my players,” he said.

If Whitley Bay can overcome Brantham Athletic then they will host either Bitton or Ebac Northern League rivals Shildon whilst Spennymoor or Lordswood will have home advantage against Bemerton Heath Harlequins or Blackfield & Langley.

Holders Dunston UTS will again be on their travels if they conquer Tunbridge Wells, facing Larkhall Athletic or Peacehaven & Telscombe.

The games are to be played on Saturday, February 9.
