Middleton will not underestimate North Shields in Senior Cup

ASHINGTON CFC manager Gary Middleton has vouched that the Woodhorn Lane outfit will not underestimate neighbours North Shields after the sides were drawn against each other in the semi-final of this season’s Northumberland Senior Cup in a clash which will take place at the Daren Persson Stadium.

Bedlington Terriers, who knocked out holders Newcastle United Reserves in their quarter final clash, will travel to face Whitley Bay in the other tie, with the games to be played on or before March 23.

Colliers boss Gary Middleton said: “It’s a semi-final so whoever we were paired with would have been a tough draw.

“I know North Shields boss Graham Fenton very well and they are having a great season as they fight for promotion.

“Graham will have them organised and we will not underestimate them that’s for sure.”
