Station net six to see off Red Devils
MB Socca Leagues’ six-a-side competition resumed Thursday night at the Hirst Centre in Ashington with week 12 seeing the top two teams in division one coming face-to-face.
V & N Jewellers had a man sent of for violent conduct and dissent whist leaders Real Ashington’s usual suspects got involved in incidents none of their concern, but they still managed to take all three points with a 2-1 win.
Third placed Station Boys put out a weakened side but still manged a good performance and beat ACE United 6-2.
The final game in the top flight saw Multiple Scoregasms secure a 3-0 win.
Division two saw leaders The Whipping Boys win 6-2 against bottom side Ashington All-Stars.
Despite the goalkeeper for the Greens giving away another penalty they managed a top performance to go further clear at the top.
They increased their lead as second placed Red Devils came unstuck against third placed Station FC as they won 6-4 to continue their good run of form.
The final game of the night saw Newsham beat Ashington Old-Stars 2-1.
