U15s put seven past Berwick

BLYTH Spartans Under-15s continued their impressive run of form with a devastating display at Berwick.

The visitors dominated from the start and man of the moment Liam Wall bagged a brace inside ten minutes.

The pressure never relented and within 15 minutes Ayrton Browning’s impressive strike from distance made it 3-0.

Blyth continued to pile on the pressure and man of the match Liam Wall completed his hat-trick with ten minutes of the first half remaining.

Relentlessly Blyth looked for more and after a fine run and strike by Luke Watson that was acrobatically parried by the keeper, Samuel Johnson bravely headed into the back of the net for 5-0 at half-time.

Blyth’s resolute attitude did not let let up after the break and a first goal of the season for James Golding followed and with about 15 minutes to go James Gillie made it an impressive haul by adding the seventh.

Berwick did then rally and scored two consolation goals that gave the watching home crowd something to cheer.

Blyth’s eye-catching play of late keeps them on course for a league and cup double.
