Massive £9,000 boost for the Spartans girls team

BLYTH Spartans Junior Girls F.C have been given a massive boost of £9,000 thanks to a grant from Lottery funded Awards for All.

The good news means the club can move forward and create stronger links with the community.

Vice chairman Dave Wall said: "It's a fantastic bit of news for us and credit must go to our Treasurer Eddie Graham who worked behind the scenes for some months to achieve this.

"We have cut the subscriptions the girls pay and we aim to kit the club out, get extra training aids and look to train and pay for the right

candidates to take their FA Level 1 and Level 2 coaching badges."

Spartans are looking for new players at all ages and with a view to playing 11-a-side football at Under 15 they are also looking for experienced players to join the Blyth club.

Dave added: "We are looking for girls to be able to progress over the next two years into our successful women's squad so any player who would like to play at a very good level of the women's game in the future would be very welcome."

Any girl interested should call Dave on 07894731619 or if they are younger than 13 they should contact Paul on 07950970260.
