MCC at Langwell Crescent

ASHINGTON Cricket Club will face the MCC on Friday in a ‘time match’ at Langwell Crescent.

The fixture is one of 500 the MCC play across the country every year in the hope of spreading cricket and strengthening its foundations.

Ashington first team Michael Thewlis said: “It is a real honour to have the MCC play at our ground, our third in as many years, and allows our players to experience time cricket with a lunch and tea break, which is a very different game to the win or lose 50 overs game.”

Friday’s contest starts at 11.30am and lunch and tea is available to buy at the ground.
