Blyth Running Club are organising junior races for children under the age of 15 to be held on Saturday, July 12.
The races will all be on Blyth beach with the first at 10am, and the categories will be: under-6s 200m; U9s 400m; U11s 800m; U13s 1200m; U15s one mile.
There will be separate races for both boys and girls in each category, with trophies for first place in each race while all competitors will receive a medal.
All ages will be as on the day of the races.
It is hoped that as many children as possible will enter, and they just need to turn up at the beach car park to register and receive their numbers before the start of the race. There will be a charge of £2 to enter.

Blyth provides opportunities for young athletes between the ages of eight and 17 to receive coaching in endurance athletics events and also sprints, throws and jumping events.
All coaching is by qualified UK Athletics coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.
