Youth members of Bedlington’s East Meets West Black Belt Academy flew out to Portugal during the half term break to represent Team England at the WKC World Championships.

And their hard work and commitment paid off as they brought home nine gold, seven silver and one bronze, with every single member of the team either successfully defending their title or becoming a world champion for the first time

Colin Beddow, senior instructor at East Meets West Black Belt Academy, said: “I am very proud of everything my students have achieved and with the attitude and sportsmanship they all showed while representing Team England.

“They train hard and it has paid off for them all.”

East Meets West Black Belt Academy are always looking to welcome new students and are actively seeking sponsors to help prepare the students for next year’s World Championships.
