The County Plate semi final at Novos saw a great game of rugby as Blyth secured a final place with a 15-10 win.
Great conditions and two well balanced teams battled it out.
Both teams started out by playing attacking rugby with some great moves.
Blyth had their biggest turnout of the season 24 players in all.
Novos got the first try of the game but in quick response Blyth replied with Conner Richardson going over.
Josh Ramsey’s attempted conversion saw the wind just get the better of the kick.
The teams played flowing rugby with good hands on show from both sets of backs.
Jonny Grey then went over in the corner to get Blyth’s second try to make it 10-5 at half-time to the visitors.
In the second half and great rugby was on display and a Tom Wood try in the corner made it 15-10.
Novos responded soon after with another try but were also unable to convert
In the last ten minutes Novos threw everything at Blyth but their defence was solid and the resilience of the team refused to let Novos through.
At the final whistle it was a mix of enjoyment and relief at getting the win.
As yet the opposition is unknown as is the venue but the final is scheduled for April 27.
