For the second week running Blyth came up against a team pushing for promotion who included several southern hemisphere players among their ranks.
The home side matched their opponents in the forwards but could not cope with the power and speed of the visiting backs.
A combination of mistakes and poor tackling did not help the cause and Consett were 55-0 up at the break.
As with the previous week Blyth rallied in the second half managing a couple of unconverted tries, but they still finished well beaten 77-10.
On this display Blyth look likely relegation candidates while Consett must be favourites for promotion.
Next week’s game is away to Gosforth who are currently two places above Blyth and a win is a must if they are to have any hopes of avoiding the drop.
