Bowls club in programme

THE Bowls Development Alliance has arranged for five clubs in the region to offer a ‘Bowls For Free’ programme to anyone who has ever thought of trying the health and social benefits of the sport.

Cowpen & Crofton Welfare Bowling Club has been selected to provide the programme in south-east Northumberland.

The club is inviting people of all ages and abilities to visit the Renwick Road green on the four Saturdays in May.

There is no need to book, just turn up, meet some new friends and get a taste of the sport under the guidance of a club coach who will be at the green from 10am to noon.

Flat shoes will be required, but all other equipment will be provided, as will free refreshments.

Other clubs taking part are Tynemouth, Collingwood, North Shields, Innisfree, Longbenton, and Ponteland.
