Empire School of Boxing in Blyth have taken receipt of a new minibus.
Coun Gordon Webb helped the club with its fundrasing drive.
Head coach Les Welsh said: “It is a very difficult time to raise cash so when you get a councillor taking time out of his already hectic day to help, well that’s simply outstanding in our book.
“A while ago we set out to raise the money for the bus and everyone has contributed towards an outstanding effort.
“We have filled bags at Asda, who we owe a great debt to, we have run a race night with Blyth Spartans Under-10s, and one of our parents has even climbed a mountain and is working towards another.
“We have a lot more activities throughout the summer, and our new bus has already started paying dividends with a trip to Keighley in West Yorkshire last week.
“We have an extensive building and painting project planned for the summer so there will be no let up just yet, but I am so proud of the efforts the coaches, children and parents have put in to help us achieve the first part of our dream.”
