THE Mark Williams Memorial Darts Trophy non qualifiers night took place on Thursday night at Bedlington Station WMC.

Chris Dobey faced John Watson in the first semi-final and it was the latter who took the first leg with 140 and 139 scores in 17 darts.

Dobey hit back with scores of 140, 134 and 99 in 18 darts, and three tons in the next put him in front.

A further two 140s in the next saw Dobey through to the final 3-1.

The second semi saw Arthur Dobey up against Graham Fletcher, and it was Dobey in fine form as he won 3-0. The first included scores of 60, 100, 125, 150 and a 76 checkout in 15 darts and the third was 140, 24, 180, 139 and double nine in 13 darts.

The two Dobeys, uncle and nephew, had a nervous start to their final with family pride at stake.

Two tons helped Arthur secure the first leg, but Chris levelled only for Arthur to put in a 17-dart leg to regain the lead.

Bu the young Dobey would not be denied and two town and a 97 in a 20-dart leg sent it to a decider. And it was Chris who would pull out the win with scores of 100, 140, 100, 137 and double 12 in a 13-dart game.

Finals night is on Thursday, August 23.
