Colts through to County final

BLYTH Colts won through to the County Plate semi-final in a hard fought game against Northern.

It was an excellent performance by the Blyth team against a strong Northern XV.

After a penalty gave Blyth a 3-0 lead, Northern came back strong against the wind and converted a try.

Blyth then defended excellent and started to build their attack.

At 3-7 this would be the last time Northern held the lead as the teams exchanged converted tries, with the first two to Blyth to give them a 17-10 lead.

The second half proved to be a real battle with some great rugby by both teams.

Blyth defended well and kept edging the lead to run out 31-28 winners.

A great game and played in great spirit gave a large crowd some excellent entertainment.
